Why this topic? Because here we are at another collective threshold, because it is Juneteenth and purposely delayed information is a form of control, because we are at a shaky renegotiation point, because it is worth knowing what freedom means to you and how you participate in it—for yourself, for everyone.
Free is a state of being.
Freedom is a the idea/concept of liberty, to be able to do and be without oppression.
Freeing is an action.

Scroll below for The Image.
The Image is the prompt.
Then ask yourself: Who do I feel is most free in this image and why?
Write for 5 minutes. Trust your own brilliance. Can you simultaneously track your body’s response as you write? What sensations (pressure, heat, movement) accompany you as or after you write.
Be specific. Being vague isn’t helpful. This person is free because their leg is relaxed doesn’t actually mean anything to you, to anyone listening or to your physiology. Why does that move you? What about a relaxed leg signifies freedom to you, what does it remind YOU of in your experience? Allow the image to launch you and then go into the recesses of your belief systems and memories.
**This painting is by a famous artist. My choice of his painting is not a statement about how I feel about him. I saw the image before knowing he was the artist. I am inviting you to simply feel immediately which body feels the most free to you and why?
