A few months ago, I was crunching along a path of autumn leaves with a phone to my ear, talking to my wise mom, wondering aloud about whether leaving the beloved land we had inhabited for over a decade was a mistake for our children. She didn’t skip a beat: “No, because YOU are the legacy.” She reminded me that all any kids need in this life, short of food/water/shelter, is one adult or crew of adults watching out for them. Caring for them. Modeling for them.
Cue: very clear mission for all adults alive always and right now.
The children—all of them, not only your own—need us to be embodied and paying attention and connected to the earth and each other.
For me, that starts with resourcing myself. I had to learn the hard way that ignoring my own needs over and over again leads to severe depletion and a startling brush with death. Instead of looking beyond for more or something different, I now LOVE noticing the resources that already exist before me—the ones I might not notice. Like the many cans of black beans I didn’t remember we had, or the 150 rainbow colored ponytail holders in a bag under the sink. Moving homes unearths it all and then voila. Broaden that out and feel into the community you already have. What and who can you lean on? Where can you be the one leaned on? I believe we are entering an era of massive innovation and reinvention—and some wheels will always be the same. Humans need and thrive with connection.

YOUR DEEPEST LONGING
Get Under Your Blocks and Identify How You Want to Show Up
November 19th at 11am MT (1pm EST).
Bring a friend because traction happens in the relational field.
*The title explains itself: nervous system, archetypes/story, let’s dig in there and see what surfaces from within
My longtime soul friend Jen Bloomer of Radici Studios has created a calendar of her art. How could you not want this on your wall? Such a great gift for others. It’s magnificent and energizing and grounded and a call to action—all in one. You can order these UNTIL MONDAY, I think. So go for it. Hand them out like candy, or rather like warm bowls of soup on a winter day.
Love to all, because you are the legacy,
